Age of Responsibility
In recents years, people have begun to questions what is the age of responsibility, many may say 21 is others may say 18. Alan Greenblatt in the article, What is the Age of Responsibility, explains that young people are give mixed messages of their maturity. The age of responsibility is 25 because of maturity, steady job, and independence.
Maturity plays a very important role in the age of responsibility. In most states laws recognized 18 year olds as young adults yes this may be true but 18 year olds are not that responsible or mature. When someone usually turns 18 they just want to party and just do whatever they want and not care who sees. Many 18 year olds dropping out of college and move back with their parents only because they have nowhere else to go. That's not being responsible at all, being a 18 and dropping out of school because all of a sudden they think they can do whatever they want.
Entering the age of responsibility you need to have your life planned out like jobs school may want to attend before graduation, most 18 year olds don’t think of that. Yes you may get a job and all but there always a chance where if you would have gone to college you could have gotten a better job. Most 18 year old never get to have the college experience only because they are insecure and don’t think they can do anything with their lives. There wrong, 18 years olds have their whole life ahead of them they just need to get some work done. Having a job at 18 is a good thing it can help pay your way through college but you need time for studies.
At the age of 18 your more independent. You're at the age where you pretty much know what you want for your life, that's the time where you're considered an adult. Being independent is being responsible but you may need some help at times that's fine with getting help but as long as you know what you're doing you're fine.
On a final note, we must consider that 18 year olds all responsible in their own ways do to the fact that most already know what they want to do with their lives. So again I must ask “What is the age of Responsibility”? Most may say its 21 others may say its 18 but those are the years where all you want to do is party you just became consider an adult and can finally drink. But the truth of it all age of responsibility is the late 20 only do to that your out of the party game you have your life set steady job more mature now and independent.

Drug & Alcohol Addiction
There are many types of addictions and each addictions has a different effect on individuals. An addiction is a substance that an individual cannot get off of and want it all the time. Addictions may cause a lot of stress on individuals and their family members. The two most common addictions are drug and alcohol. Most individual are mostly addicted to these types of drug only because they have common systems. Although drugs and alcohol have the same systems there two types of totally different drugs and have different reactions on everyone.
Alcohol and drugs addiction has a variety of effect on people. Alcohol has a different effect on an individual other than using drug alcohol gets you drunk makes you act different and may make you do things you don’t want to do. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, “ Alcohol interferes with the brain’s communication pathway, and can affect the way the brain looks and works” (NIAAA). As the alcohol interferes with the brain’s communication pathway, lot of things can happen like for instance for getting things, not knowing what happened to you, also it slowly shuts down our brain. Each drugs affects the body in a different way not only because of the chemical but also the many aspects that the drug has on its own. It also depends on what take with the drug some individuals go overboard and take more than one drug at the same time that is a good way a person can take their life. “Most abused drugs directly or indirectly target the brain's reward system by flooding the circuit with dopamine” (Gateway Foundation). As Dopamine sends messages between the brain cells its important that its doesn’t send too many messages but that only happen when you are on drugs, the drugs cause floods of dopamine in the brain and can damage your brain. The cause of drugs and alcohol on an individual and their family members has a very strong impact on them using them drugs and alcohol can tear a family apart.
For drugs and alcohol physical hurting an individual is a very high number of people in the U.S about 17.6 million (NCADD). While using drugs or alcohol you can physically hurt yourself by a car accident because you don’t know what you’re doing due to the drugs and alcohol. Also if a woman is pregnant and you are using these things the baby can be born with birth affects like, brain damage. As an individual is using these type of drugs or alcohol he or she may physically hurt themselves or another individual in many different ways that are dumb reasons like getting in a car crash or even fighting with another person.
In life, having a social life is like everything. Not having a social life is not like being hit by a car because no one want to be around you. Drugs and alcohol ruin your life. Drugs can take it over. One day you will be fine and all happy then the next you're doing drugs and trying to anything just to get a little hit or drink. Drugs and alcohol can change the way you look in many ways, like for instance the way your skin looks, the way you smell, and the way you just hold yourself together. Every little detail about you counts. Drugs don’t just mess up your outer body it also messes up your inner body like your brain, lungs, liver, and blood vessels pretty much everything that can keep you alive.
All I can say between drugs and alcohol they both can affect a person in a different way but that doesn't mean everyone should do them. Yes they do make an individual do what they want it just take over them but it can kill you and may have an effect that might make you hurt someone else. Doing drugs and drinking alcohol just keep to the simple stuff like one a beer a day and to drugs just keep to the ones that are prescribed to you not any of the street kind.
